Who handles closing when seller is out of state?
Hello, I'm currently working on a deal where the seller is in Florida and I'm in Connecticut. My attorney who I started this process with advised me today that his workload was overbearing so he couldn't help me further. Now I have to find another attorney. One counsel I did call he said because the seller was in Florida I needed to use an attorney/title company there. But I thought I needed to have my own lawyer here and work with the attorney/title company for that state in this example Florida. Can anyone shed some light on what I should do. My purchase contract with the seller currently has my original lawyer's office information on it. Do I have the seller sign a new PA when I find another lawyer? Do I need to use different lawyers and/or title companies for each state I do business in or is there one that will do nationwide closings? Thank you.

The closing/title co. needs to be local the Property. All documents get fedexed to the out of state parties for execution in front of a notary. If someone Wants their own attorney in addition, that’s up to them.
