Amateur in San Diego

I’m an amateur to this business, but am excited and motivated to learn as much as I can. For the last week or so I've spent a ton of time reading various blog posts and forum posts. There is such great information here and a ton of knowledge and experience I can learn from. I just want to thank everyone in advance for sharing this great information. I also want to warn you in advance… I might ask a lot of questions. But I promise to try to do my research first.

Since I can’t meet each and every one of you – thought I’d introduce myself and hope that you will introduce yourself back. My husband and I live in San Diego and have been here 13 years. We bought our first house in 2010. We were so excited with the view we had from the back yard, we hardly spent time looking at the inside. Needless to say, on the day of the inspection we realized we needed to do some serious work. We took out walls, raised the ceiling in the kitchen, removed all the popcorn on the ceiling, opened up a bedroom to the bathroom for a jr. suite, pulled up the carpets and painted – all within 3 weeks before moving in. It was a whirlwind – but so much fun. Since then, we’ve (meaning me and the hubby) put in hardwood floors, built a bar in the kitchen and tiled and added a back splash. We still have work to do, but we've truly enjoyed doing the work ourselves.

So, of course, we think we can be house flippers. Why not, right? Someone has to do it. Well... that’s where you come in. I know I’ll be reaching out with questions and guidance and I just want to thank you in advance. We are excited for this journey and look forward to meeting you all.
