New real estate investor in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex!
Howdy,
My name is Adonis Sousa and I live in Dallas, Texas. Real Estate has been in my mind for the last 4 years when I first got introduced to BiggerPockets. I have read multiple books, listened to hundreds of podcasts and networked with people who are actively investing in south and west Texas. I have 8+ years in the IT Enterprise sales, customer success and program management areas. My goal is to retire early and enjoy life traveling around the world with my family!
I own residential rental properties in Frisco, TX and Brazil and I am looking to increase my rentals portfolio in the DFW metroplex. Eventually, I would like to get into multifamily properties (small and large) but I want to get more experience under my belt with BRRRR and flipping before adventurIing myself with bigger and more complex projects.
For those who are actively investing in DFW, what areas north of Sam Rayburn/DNT are you focusing on? Any local REI groups who are not just a sales pitch?
Thanks in advance,
Adonis Sousa

@Adonis Sousa Welcome to Texas. Right now the hot spot, maybe one of the hottest in the country is along 380 from Denton to McKinney. Anything north of there is probably good to look at as well as east and west.....now all the way to Decatur and east to Greenville, north to the Oklahoma border. Sherman and Denison look pretty hot right now. I bet I saw 100 rehabs in progress in Denison a month ago. Surprisingly enough on a rental I just had in Sherman, I would guess 1/3 of the calls were from people that lived or worked in DFW area and were willing to drive for the price.
I've posted various lists of meetups in DFW area if you search for it here. If you can't find it let me know and I'll send a copy your way.
