Steven “New Jersey” Jones Begins His Real Estate Crusade With Bigger Pockets
For months I have scouted out the community and even followed some of you as I anticipated someday entering the community to search for a portion of the real estate treasures to be discovered. Recently I came to realize that those of you who have found your treasure did so through consistent action over time. This seems to be a good forum to not only learn the true secrets of success, but to also receive the needed motivation and support to realize true success. So I am committed to being a regular contributor, while being a benefactor as well.
I am originally from Fort Worth, TX. I moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1981 and lived there for eight years. There I met my wife and we were there together for three of those eight years. We then moved to New Jersey in 1989 and we have been here since. I work for a utility company and my wife is a sales representative for a cookware company.
We have dabbled in real estate for three or four years on and off with no real success, except to purchase our own home the traditional way by using a real estate agent. Our efforts to become investors has cost us enough to put a down payment on a house. My experience has been that most seminars are strictly money makers for the companies sponsoring them. The so called training is negligible and impersonal. I hope Bigger Pockets will do for me what it has done for some of you. I hope it will be my last real estate crusade.
