Greetings

I have been listening to the Bigger Pockets podcast for 5 months and I have finally decided it is time to join to discussion. I am a small business consultant in the Bay Area. I mostly work with small businesses helping them to improve their business to increase profit and revenue. You get the idea. I also have started several companies here in the San Jose area. However, the only business I run is my consulting business.

I started looking into Real Estate in 2011. I found Rich Dad Poor Dad and of course I was interested. I then continued my education in RE through books and reading everything online. I also did some coaching with the Rich Dad company( I will save my thoughts on that).

I was able to pick up my first property in December 2012. The property was a foreclosure and needed some light repairs. The property is in Georgia just south of Atlanta. The numbers looked good and so I went for it. I think in hindsight I could have done better but the deal went fairly well. We did have more repair costs than we expected, etc. I have a few bruises but I learned a ton doing that first deal.

So I am totally a newbie as you can see but I am excited to learn and do some more deals. I am looking to build my portfolio and help my wife and I have a nice retirement. I also desire to leverage my business skills to make some more money in RE.

Thanks so much.

I look forward to being part of the discussion.
