Role and Cost of Mentors

Edwin Batte
Posted

I’m about 2 weeks in as a rookie. I’m learning a lot! The knowledge, insight and support is really amazing. The eagerness to share with and help each other succeed is incredible. Truly, a great community!   Thank you.

Needless to say, everyone is a mentor of sorts — some more so than others. The role of a mentor is essential without a doubt. Cost — that’s the question! There are some outside BP that are offering mentoring services. I’m wondering if  anyone here has had experience with them — Commercial Properties Advisors with Robert Harris, for example. Thoughts? Are they worthy the investment?

    Hey Edwin,

I know the 15k I spent on my mentor was worth every penny. He was a local investor that came recommended from several people. He was not a guru and didn't have a formal program.

Be wary of someone that has a fancy program but isn't in the trenches of your local market.

The best coaches and mentors are guys doing what you want to be doing in your local market.

    Best of luck!
