Hey everyone! My name is Chris Kilpatrick. I started thinking about real estate years ago when I read books like Rich Dad Poor Dad, The Millionaire Next Door, and Acres of Diamonds. I spent some time working in my own design business, but that industry was (and still is) just paying the bills – not accumulating wealth. Over the past six months or so I've been listening to real estate podcasts like BP. I recently bought a 1980's 3B/2B, and have been renovating it in my spare time. My plan is to begin to slowly build up a number of single family rentals. Once I get this one finished, I plan to start looking for the next deal.

Thanks everyone! I agree that I need to keep my holding costs in check. I've kicked up my rehab pace and hope to be done really soon.

Mehran, Thanks for the link. I haven't read most of those books. I'll check them out.
