Southern California Investor says Hello!

Hi everyone at BP. First off, I want to say that I've been listening to the BP podcasts all week, and can't get enough. I'm just starting to formulate my plans and goals into specifics. Generally, I'd like to invest in real estate and earn have enough RE income within 5 years to quit my job. I've been percolating on REI for years, and now I'm getting serious. I've been to guru presentations in the past, and was completely turned off, and felt their premise was highly risky. I'm an engineer, and feel I'm pretty logical and conservative. I hope to use these traits to become a successful investor.

I'm in chapter 3 of the BP Ultimate Beginner's Guide, and writing questions as I go. I'm sure I'll be jumping into the conversation soon.

Thanks to all in advance!
