Hello everyone!

My name is Chris Lesko and I am very excited to extend my newbie hello. I stumbled upon this site by accident a few days ago while looking up info about real estate investing strategies and boy am I glad I did! The amount of quality information on here is simply mind-blowing.

I moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania about two years ago to take on an electrical engineering position down here. My interest in investing in real estate sparked a few years ago while still in school and I've been trying to read anything I could get my hands on about the subject ever since. My greatest interest is in buying and holding multi-family properties and my goal is to own my first one by this time next year.

I'm sure my long term goals will change, but as of now I am set on buying a triplex or quad and living in it before acquiring another property. I've been renting in Center City Philadelphia for two years now, so I have a vague idea of what to expect rent wise, but I'm looking to gather more info on the market in other neighborhoods of Philly (center city properties are quite expensive). I'm hoping that a FHA or 203K loan will enable me to acquire a great deal after I find one.

I'm looking forward to connecting with you guys and would appreciate any tips about how to determine which neighborhood to choose when considering buying a small multi-family unit. My apologies if the intro was rather long :).
