First Time Investor in Raleigh, NC

Hello Everyone!

My name is Tom, and I'm a first time poster, first time investor in the Raleigh, NC market. I've lived here for about 6 years after moving "back home" from Atlanta. I have relatives that have owned residential rental properties so I have had in interest in investment real estate for several years.

My day job is in corporate finance, and my wife works in corporate accounting. As you can imagine "numbers" are our strength!

We are primarily looking to acquire 2 to 4 unit properties that we can hold indefinitely. We are both in our 30's, so the plan would be to hold these properties debt-free by the time we are ready to retire.

I'm hoping to gain some knowledge from the other members on Bigger Pockets. At some point many years down the road, I would like to be able to share my knowledge with the next batch of "new investors."

There is a lot of great information on Bigger Pockets and I would like to thank all who contribute!
