Trying to meet like-minded people through investing!

Hello there!

My name is Brent Barnes, and I'm so excited to have found this community. I'm a 26-year-old living in Harrisonburg, Virginia. I graduated from James Madison University back in 2017, and I've become an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher since then. I'm going on my third year this year.

I love my job, but I am a very ambitious person, and I've been searching for something else to pour myself into where my high levels of effort are directly proportional to high levels of passive income so that I can travel, be a great parent eventually, and affect the world of education in a much larger way.

My goal is to get my REI education while I save money for my first property. By August of 2022, I plan to find a small multifamily property that will allow me to house hack and build a strong understanding of what landlords do. While house hacking, I am interested in trying the BRRRR strategy to build a multifamily or Airbnb portfolio!

I have a million questions, but one I'd like to ask first. I would love to be active on these forums! However, since I have more questions than answers, I'm not sure of all the ways I can participate here. How do you recommend a newbie who's still getting their REI education involve themselves in the forums without annoyingly flooding the forum with questions?

I can't wait to meet and have conversations with everyone in this awesome community that I've heard so much about.

Thanks for reading!

Brent Barnes
