Hi Bigger Pockets,

My Name is Bart Helson and I have become a huge fan of BP over these past few weeks. I am very new to Real Estate to the point we are preparing to purchase our first official property very soon. Me and my two older Sons will be fixing and Flipping Single Family Homes in and around the Nashville, TN area. I actually live in the small town of Scottsville, KY which is 60 miles North of Nashville.I have a day job as operations Director for a large Material Handling Co. with my office being in Bowling Green, KY. I will continue that for a few more years as I feel it's necessary to do so for all the right reasons. My Son Ben, a partner in the business, lives in Nashville where he plays Professional Music (I could say more about Ben and those he plays and has played music with over the past 6 years (beginning as a junior in College) but this is no place to name drop. As we continue to participate & network with the BP Community, we'll all learn more about each other.

We are just now looking for our first property to purchase all while seeking and soaking up all the educational info we possibly can in order to finish up our short-term and longer-term business plan. Our focus is primarily on rehabbing and selling and will be such unless we crap out on a property and have to revert to an exit strategy of some sort but...let's not think about that at this point. We are passionate about this new path we've chosen to work together on and are Looking forward to communicating, learning and contributing (when possible) from everyone here at BP!!!

Thanks so much for the Welcome Guys. Daniel, I appreciate your posting a link to the REIA Meetings. This is something Ben, Chris and I have discussed and fully intend to take advantage of and support. I wasn't aware of the "New Investors Meetings" and this certainly sounds like something both Ben and I will be interested in attending. I look forward to Meeting you at one of the meetings.
Mehran, The bonding comment was very appropriate! I can't say how much I'm looking forward to working with the Boys while we build a business together from ground up. I can't think of a better way to finish my professional life than mentoring/teaching both on the things I've learned over the years while also learning some new inovative business approaches from the younger guys! I am getting ready to order the two books from BP (3 of each for me and my sons). I'm looking forward to getting started reading each book. Thank You!
Conrad, Thank You for the Welcome and for wishing us good Luck. I have no doubt we will need a bit of luck in order to make this work without having to take too bad a beating from which to learn from. I know we'll make mistakes as we move forward but I intend to stay dilegent in keeping to our plan (hoping we've written a good plan), most of which has been built on the information we've learned by listening to BP Podcast and reading through a few blog post on the BP Website.
This will be allot of fun for us and if all goes well, I hope to Bring my Daughter (27 yrs Old and owns her own Cosmotolgy business) and my Youngest son who is just ready to begin his Freshman yr. in College. As we grow incremetally, it would be such a blessing to know I've helped to build a business with enough positive income to support my Children and their families...We'll see???
