New investor in London, UK

Daniel Lima
Posted

Hello BP!

My name is Daniel and I live in London, UK.

I have been a long-time BP podcast listener and decided it is time to start my own real estate journey.

I am comfortable with risk-taking and am experienced in investments in other asset classes.

However, when it comes to real estate I only read books / watched videos and still have a lot to learn before I can actually start investing.

My goal, like many of you here, is to achieve financial independence by substituting my active income with passive income. I have 2 friends that are also looking to do the same, so I guess I already have a basic team.

One of my current barriers is the fact that 99% of the content I find is US-focused and, although I would like to expand my portfolio to US properties eventually, I believe it would be wiser to start somewhere close to where I am (London, UK).

I still need to educate myself so any recommendations of materials to read/study (UK market) would be much appreciated.

It would be great to have inputs from some experienced UK investors.

Thank you,

Daniel

@Cherie Gatling

Thank you for the warm welcome!

Interesting approach. I am a bit scared of starting out already with foreign investments. It sounds like I would be taking too big of a step for my current level of experience.

How is that working out for you?

Would you recommend any materials on foreign markets real estate investments?

Thanks,

Daniel
