Eldon & Lynnie from Utah moving to Maine

hi, I am Eldon, my wife (Lynnie), kids and I are just starting out, on our plan to move across the country and build a sustainable and hopefully more passive income. I am currently a local CDL truck driver in the agriculture industry and my wife works as a customer service call center representative from home.  We have come up with a plan and have started working on it.

Our plan isn't very complicated, or so we believe it to not be

We want to buy our first home as a 3-4 unit using the house hack method with an FHA by living in one unit and renting the other two primarily to eliminate rent. We will stay in the unit for at least one to two years allowing us to rebuild our finances. From there, we want to refinance to a traditional mortgage so we can: A. use the FHA again or B. pull any equity out to get another place. Our goal is 10 units(doors) in 5 years at which point my wife said she wants her own home.

So far, we have found an agent Josh Cousineau who has been super helpful in helping us get to know the area and finding a lender who seems alright. (never bought anything big before so it's all-new)

The lender ran our credit and told us what to do and we have been doing so. Unfortunately, we kinda have to do a bit of rebuilding after doing some of the repair work so we have a few months of hard overtime work ahead of us but we are moving forward. We are trying to stay on track and keep moving forward with our goals.

Most grown people have no plans or goals.  Sounds obtainable,  lots of disciple and sacrifice.    Save all the money you can.   Work on that credit.  Work second and third jobs.  Save, save, save.  A great agent is a must and be loyal back to that agent.  You will become a great associate with him.

Make sure the family is on board.

Make sure that the loan agent can work with you to get your credit up as fast as possible.

Save your money!!!!

Good luck
