New to REI in Colorado, looking for a mentor/partner

New to this site, figured I'd take a shot in the dark...
Just sold our first house, made a little bit of dough off it (enough to get out of debt, and have enough for a down payment) and am looking to get into real estate investing.

I was hoping someone might be looking to help a guy out, and maybe we can help each other make money on the way. I'm looking for a partner, or even some advice on the Colorado market. It seems tough right now, with the ridiculous prices houses are fetching right now.

I have an uncle who builds homes out here, and recommeded staying OUT of housing because of the prices, he says: try to find a plot to build a triplext etc on, however, I don't even know how to find good housing deals, let alone land deals.

Any reply would be greatly appreciated
Sean
