Never been more excited!

I've always been interested in real estate but have always been too nervous to take the plunge. Instead I have spent many nights researching stocks, reading newspapers, watching various news channels and trying to convince myself the stock market is where I should put my money. Just recently I caught myself on khanacademy.org watching a view videos on real estate when I told myself I was going to learn more about options trading. That's when it struck me, if I'm always forcing myself to learn more about stock investing rather than real estate I should switch my focus.

I'm a current active duty Air Force member who has 14 years left before I retire. I'm about to go from enlisted to officer which equates to roughly double my current income and I'm about to rent out my current home and move to a new location in a few months. My wife and I are determined to retire when we're 50 years old or in about 20 years and with the extra income we're ready to take the plunge and get involved in something we've always talked about, real estate investing.

I can't wait to spend the next few months researching and when we find out where we going to be stationed next take the next and buy our first real estate investment!!
