Hello, bigger pockets community. I am a 21 year old looking to network with some other investors in the Birmingham AL area. It has been my dream to be financially independent since I read rich dad poor dad 6 years ago. Since then I graduated college and work FT 3rd shift 3 days a week which leaves me time to pursue that dream. I moved to Auburn AL with my now fiancé and purchased a house for 0% down with no PMI a year ago. Since then I received a job offer in Birmingham for a significant raise, and after looking into renting my home noticed that the value of my home had increased because of the pandemic. So I took the job and now live in an apartment in Birmingham. My house is under contract with an all cash buyer for $132,000, and I bought it for $107,000. He did his own inspection and has waived all contingencies so I feel confident in it closing without issue. So after fees and taxes I should have what I am hoping to use as starting capital towards investing in real estate. I am aware of how crazy the market is right now because I looked at homes before getting this apartment. However I know that timing the market is futile. So I am hoping to gain some experience before taking the dive into buying my first property, but am also interested in any insights or thoughts that may help me get started. Thank you for always being such a generous source if information, and inspiring people like myself to do more than what I thought possible.
