Newbie in real estate investing and in the educating phase. We have a lot to learn, but after having a few successful home purchases/sales we are eager to get into this space and start investing in it. I have always been an entrepreneur and have been looking for an exit strategy for my current “9-5 cubicle” job. Our goals are financial freedom and having the time to spend with family (wife and 5 y.o. twin girls) and maybe even get back into my dream job of firefighting.

I’ve worked as a civilian with the Navy for the last 11 years as a contracting officer. Currently, managing a contract portfolio over a half billion dollars worth of IT contracts. It has been a great career, rapid promotion, lived in Italy for 4 years, and challenging work. However, after my last promotion, I had the WTF realization, yes whiskey tango foxtrot, my retirement date is in 2039 and I am just one promotion away from the top pay grade, WTF am I going to do for the next 20+ years?!

We are looking in the Central, PA area, specifically Carlisle and Mechanicsburg. Right now I’m starting to analyze the market looking at turn key single family or multi-family rental units, maybe small scale commercial. Looking to network in the area to learn and find resources. We will be looking for little to no money down solutions.
