Newbie should I invest in NY or attempt out-of-state investing?

Hi everyone,

My name is Anis Meah and I reside in NYC. I currently go to college and have been interested in REI since high school. I have read my fair share of real estate books, listened to podcasts, and watched videos. My goal is to begin investing in RE after graduation, out-of-state of course. New York is expensive, that is why I plan on investing in Connecticut.

What does everyone think of this state for REI?

It would be fantastic to connect with investors in NY, CT or in general. Any and all advise would be appreciated!
