Newbie looking to Wholesale in Queens, NY and Long Island

Hello everyone here! I'm excited to join this site and be a part of it. After following Danny from flippingjunkie I saw him bring up biggerpockets and thought, hey it's a another step forward for me.

I live in Briarwood (they call it Jamaica but it's drastically different) Queens. I'm looking to pick up wholesaling and bird dogging in Eastern Queens and all of Long Island. I think it's great to be close to so many highly desirable areas and should make for some great opportunities to learn. I used to be a Personal Banker for a midsized banking institution, but was released and have been unemployed since October. It's not all bad, I have been a great stay at home dad to my 2 year old but I'm ready to put in work!

I've spent lots of time researching and analyzing the business and with Danny's help I feel like taking the next step. I have already started working on a website, ordering business cards, and generally getting the word out. I admit that I have no clue what to expect but obviously the best way to learn is to do it. I know I will make mistakes and that is okay. It's all pushing me towards my dream of being my own boss. Done with the subway commutes, the suit and tie, and the lack of movement in big companies.
