Removing Section 8 voucher
Hi all,
I am in the middle of buying this multi family in Newark NJ and its a good deal but the second floor tenant is an elderly Section 8 tenant. I don't want to continue with any Section 8 (after I buy this property) but would like to give the tenant sufficient time to find something once the moratorium ends. I understand there are a lot of opinions of what to do and what not to do but what I am looking for is advice on how to end Section 8. Has some one done it? How much time does it take? Also is there any clause for the elderly. I called up the Section 8 office here at Newark and they were not friendly. Any suggestion/help is appreciated. Thanks!
