Newbie in Boulder/Lafayette, Colorado

Hi All!

My name is Drew Clements, I currently live in Boulder, Colorado, but I'm just about ready to close on my first property - a duplex in Lafayette, Colorado. I run an online advertising agency (happy to answer questions there, too), so real estate is something I'm getting into on the side; but I've been having a blast so far.

My wife and I are purchasing our duplex with and FHA loan and our plan is to do all of the landscaping this fall and refinance in 6 months. This it a property we intend to buy and hold - owner-occupants for a year or two while we cut our teeth and figure the details out before we rinse and repeat.

I'm very excited to finally be starting into real estate. And glad I came across bigger pockets! I look forward to continuing to learn here on the site from all of you and contributing where I can :)

Hey Drew Clements welcome to the site! Congratulations on your duplex! I love that strategy. My first real investment (other than a quick live-in flip) was a duplex (once lived in by Kurt Cobain!) that I lived in half and rented the other half out. It's such a great way to learn and grow at the same time. I still own it today and probably will forever. So congrats!
