New Investor from NJ- Intro post

Hello All,

I’m new to the world of real estate investing so wanted to reach out and introduce myself. I’ve been listening to the pod cast for a while and have been reading as much as I can but I think having a place to bounce questions off people will be very beneficial.

So a little more about me and my goals. I’ve been a full time firefighter for 11 years. While I’ll be eligible to pull my pension in just 14 years I don’t think it will be nearly enough to live off of and traditional investments just aren’t for me. I’m a pretty simple guy so I don’t need to make a ton of money to be happy. If I could generate about $3k in profit per month I think I would be sufficient on cash flow to maintain my lifestyle. I currently have a pretty decent amount of capital I can play with from my current home. I’m currently trying to figure out the most efficient way to use that capital to make purchases and minimize my risks. I’m looking forward to learning and connecting with all of you
