After reading and reading I felt like this was the least I could do!

Hello everyone, my name is Jake Shafer and I just wanted to say how great of a website you guys have going here. I found out about this website through my fiance who felt like one of the articles was right up my alley. Four hours of reading later, here I am making an introduction post.

I am 24 currently living in Dallas (Carrollton specifically), Texas and going to school finishing up my Master's degree in accounting. I have always been interested in real estate, I just thought that it was a task that required money in order to make money. After reading into it however, I feel like it's something I would be good at and more importantly something that I would really enjoy doing.

As far as why I'm here, my fiance and I are both servers at an upscale restaurant and making great money for college students. This is great, and I enjoy my job, but as anyone in the restaurant industry will tell you; it is not all fun, and as I am working on my 8th year serving tables I am READY for something new. Again though, I have tried hourly jobs, and none of them can compare to the amount of money we average an hour as servers so it is certainly a double-edged sword.

This brings me to my goal: I want to be self-employed and able to generate enough money to make up for my half of the income to keep us where we are currently financially. As far as going about this goes, I am really enjoying reading about house flipping and also looking into rental properties.

Thanks for taking the time to read through, looking forward to talking with some of you guys and gals.
