New to real estate, from Central Florida

Posted

Hello, my name is Evelio, I am a teacher here in Central Florida. I'm new to real estate investing and I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can as I work towards my first deal. I first read Rich Dad, Poor Dad and that brought me here to Bigger Pockets. I've been listening to the podcast, attending webinars, and playing with the calculators and I'm excited about the prospect of gaining freedom through real estate. I had the mentality that I would have a job, work paycheck to paycheck, and eventually retire, but now I'm looking for more, freedom to do what I want.

Short term, for the next few months, I'm going to keep reading and learning so I can analyze the local market and land a good first deal. I know the first deal is always the hardest to start, so I'm setting it as my goal for the next few months.

Long term, I'd love to build up a portfolio of long term and short term rental properties- both single family and multifamily so I can have the cash flow to spend more time with my family and live abroad part time.
