New to bigger pockets/network/ introduction
Hey guys!
I heard of this podcast from my sister so I’m starting from episode 1 and listening.
I am 22 working as a junior processor in the mortgage industry in New Jersey.
I currently am learning all the real estate lingo, learning about how to calculate NOI, ROI, etc. I also want to own real estate to earn rental Income in the future however I would need to invest outside of my area. NJ is a expensive area and bad for investments so I'd want to do New York or PA and I'm currently casually looking for someone that I can own real estate with.
Currently reading rich dad poor dad in my spare time, while listening to this podcast. And in summer I scuba dive, surf, paintball, and I love to travel.
Nice to meet you all and hope to connect in the future!

Hi @Samuel Reiser Welcome to BP and congrats on taking the next steps!
I second what @Scott Wolf said. Don't let anyone steer you away from NJ as there is opportunity here for sure. I started my investing journey by house-hacking a two-family in Bayonne, NJ using an FHA 203k construction loan. Gained a whole lot of experience, full-gut rehabbing a 1920s build brownstone w/ little down and the banks money, and forced some good equity while doing so. I highly recommend this route for the new investor like yourself.
Feel free to DM me if you have any questions about house-hacking, the market/where to invest or REI in general. I'm a lifelong resident of New Jersey and also a licensed real estate agent so I'd be happy to chat and provide value anyway I can.
