Hey, my name is Cecilia, an investor, that is at the moment based in Switzerland.

I have been postponing my intro on BP far too long. Today while listening to an inspiring BP podcast episode (nr. 276) , I felt that it’s time to say hi and not just be a ghost in the BP community.

I come from a family that has been entrepreneurs in different fields for generations and it has always felt like the best path for me too. The first self employed experience that I had was with portrait photography after learning everything I could online. Still today, 11 years later I have that as a side gig.

I made it into the national boxing team in Finland as 17 years old. I learned a lot from the 95 fights that I had, and I wouldn’t be the same person today without them. I saw that I can push myself a lot harder even after my body or mind says I am done. I don’t fear changes or challenges, I embrace them, because I know that’s how I can grow and get closer to my goals and visions in life.

I joined Bigger pocket in 2018 when my partner first introduced me to real estate investing. I guess the timing wasn't the best then. Since we had just created a LLC and started with ecommerce, selling gothic clothes online.

After flipping a coin in Ethiopia 2020 on where to go in the world, we flew to Zürich the next day and did everything we could to earn as much as possible to take the steps we needed towards becoming a full time investor.

I started to listen to the BP podcast, which I am extremely grateful for, they have made me see that anything is possible, no matter what is your starting point.

After first just Listening, reading and learning, I am now at the point where I am starting to also connect with members, Analyzing deals, and even finding the best ways to move to the US, since we have decided that it would be a lot better for us to start investing locally in the US than from abroad.

My experiences in real estate before I joined BP is mostly from what I have learned from my dad who is renting out summer houses and also long term apartments. From him I have also learned and helped out with construction and reparation of the properties.

I also learned from my ex when she bought her first apartment about the whole buying and lending process, before and after owning it.

With my current partner we have also rented out rooms and an apartment on Airbnb, and that has taught me a lot about having tenants, even though it was mostly short term.

I would love to connect with other members and get the chance to learn more. I am interested in investing in multifamily units and mobile home parks in the state of Georgia.

Thanks for this awesome community, take care and remember that everything is possible if you want it bad enough :)
