Future Veteran/College Student Looking for an Investment

I am new to BiggerPockets and real estate in general. I am currently in the Army and only one year from getting out of my first term. I am planning on going to college after I get out. I will be receiving BAH (housing allowance 1,000-1,500 a month depending on location) from my GI bill. I just wanted to know if it would be a good idea to buy a house and use the money I get from my GI bill to pay my mortgage bill and rent out a room or two for profit. Unless there is a more profitable way
