i’m 14 but i want to invest in real estate as soon as possible

I’m 14 years old and I want to become a successful RE investor. I don’t want to work a job for someone else all my life, because I see how stressed out and how much my parents absolutely hate their job. No offense to them, but I don’t want to live like that. I’m thinking of not going to college, because I want to start investing in real estate right after high school. Is this a smart idea????? I will try learn as much as I can before I get to that point though. Also, is there ways to invest in real estate with little money? I live in illinois, wholesaling was basically made illegal in illinois around a year or so ago. Im frightened for my future, but all I want to be is successful and to have freedom. Please feel free to recommend me books, I must keep learning.

Very cool that you've decided you want to pursue REI at such a young age! You've got a lot of time to figure things out. I've read quite a few books laid out here that have helped me develop some of the strategies I'm using currently: https://www.biggerpockets.com/...

I wouldn't necessarily ignore college at this point, but you should start to figure out ways to earn some money - summer job, etc. Save everything you can, and as long as you're responsible with your money, try to build up a credit profile with things like a credit card when you hit the right age (I'm Canadian, not sure how things work in the US). There are many ways to invest in real estate with little money, you just need to spend time educating yourself and figure out a plan.
