New and Eager to Learn in Tuscaloosa, AL

Hello everyone:

My name is Chris Hydrick, and I'm from (and currently living in) Tuscaloosa, AL. I have just recently returned to the States from completing my MSc program in Translation Studies (Russian and Spanish) in the UK (University of Edinburgh). I also hold a BA in International Relations from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide! :D).

I plan on attending law school (not sure yet of specialization, but I will be pursuing something in financials: tax, capital markets, investment banking, REITs, etc) beginning 2014, and consequently, have a "gap year" to build experience (any productive kind) and possibly earn some modest cash to put towards (near)-future investments. My two investment passions are Real Estate and Forex. I want to use REI as a more sound, base investment instrument, while hopefully being able to use the Forex market to realize higher risk:reward opportunities.

I do not think that I have a well-developed niche as of yet, but commercial and multifamily units are what strike me as most appealing.

Looking forward to meeting many of you from any and everywhere and, hopefully, some of you that reside nearby.

Cheers,
