New to BP | Jr to real-estate investment - Carrollton, Tx | Miami

Hello everyone. Really glad to have joined the group. I am in the process of listening to all the episodes from the podcast. Currently in Episode 50. With that said, let me breakdown my background, my investment exposure, my plans, and the why and how I got here.

Background. I am a professional computer engineer, lost my job about 4 months ago and been looking but nothing has popped up. I have a 6 months emergency fund, plus unemployment, plus whatever jobs my wife can pick up to help, some freelancing on my end, and some help from my small business picking up some expenses that can be pass as business expenses.

I have broken down things below to be more digestible and may have a better picture of myself where I am and where I want to be.

Investment exposure:

- the only investing exposure I have is when I bought my house

- and all the podcasts that I have heard from you guys.

My future plans.

- try to find a mentor that can help a newbie like myself.

- a road map to retire early, I am a firm believer of the FIRE movement.

- work on things that make me happy and ultimately have control of my time. ( I am a firm believer that time is the most precious resource we have)

- dedicate more time to my family

The why of plans to dive into real-estate.

- I have always been drawn to it but been a scary cat to jump in. I am always thinking how am I gonna finance building things up.

- build my retirement road map.

- work on leaving a legacy to my kids.

- teach my wife too, in case that I am not around she can rely on something that she knows and not struggle.

- Diversify income for the future. I have retirement, stock market, small business. Just missing the real state.

Other Initiatives.

- I have been trading in the market for the past 10+ years. I do about 10-15% avg profits every year.

- I have a small e-commerce business on a dropship model selling new tires for all vehicles across the US.

Extra - Hobbies and past time.

- uses to be a professional DJ for more than 20 years. I love music.

- love anime series (manga and animated)

- love spending time with my 2 little kids (3 yrs old and 20 months old)

- I fix my own cars and give them maintenance

- I fix most of the stuff around the house. (When I have time)

Well, that's me in the nutshell. For those that stuck to the end. I thank you for your time to read the entire thread. I don't want to make promises that I will be super active for the reasons I mention above (kids) but will try my best.
