Newbie from New York - Hello everyone!
Hey BP community,
My name is Pascal and I am based in New York City and I am listening time to time to the BP podcast. I have absolutely no background in real estate - I understand the concept but never really worked in that field. I hope that will change very soon! I am a "young professional" that works in tech and soon to be a first time dad :) Short term I would love to start investing in real estate to create a decent passive income but also look into long term investments that will pay out in the future. Prices in NY are insane - my wife and I are open to invest in other states, far or close, as well. We would like to use a property management company to manage everything, My work won't allow me to travel a lot outside NYC.
I am still going through all the educational materials but my first question to the community would be: How do you find the right market to invest in? Where do you start? I used Zillow and Realtor but I find myself getting lost very quickly. There are thousands towns and listings.
Thank you !
Pascal

Hi Pascal, welcome to the BP community! I'm new to this as well and looking for my first deal. I started off exploring possibly investing in upstate new york as I wanted to be closer to come but Ive come to realize its better to invest where the numbers make sense. Ohio, Atlanta and Florida are all states that are doing pretty well in terms of population and rent growth. Good luck on your investing journey!
