Hello BP Fam!

I wanted to hop on for a quick second to introduce myself. I'm fairly new to the REI world. About a month ago, my brother, Zach, introduced me to RE and the idea of gaining Financial Independence. He is a PDR (paintless dent repair) technician and due to the seasonal aspect of his career, was looking into ways to earn passive income. Through his research, he discovered REI was one of the most profitable. I on the other hand, work a 8-5 desk job. I never thought about the possibility of one day being financially independent because I never knew it to be an option. Once we, along with his wife Haley, got to discussing the topic further, we became determined to make this idea a reality.

We set a goal to acquire at least one property by the end of 2021. I made it a priority to begin self-educating myself. Along with several books Zach lent, he introduced me to the BP podcast that he found while searching for RE podcasts. I've only expanded my search for knowledge and connections through local REI Facebook groups, the BP Facebook group, and now officially creating by BP Profile (don't worry, I've advised Zach he needs to create a profile too!).

We are in the early stages of developing a strategy, by determining what our end goal is (monthly cash flow) and using reverse analysis to help build out a blue print to reach that target. Once we determine what our minimum cash flow needs to be to get started, we will begin to analyze our market and narrow our criteria to hopefully find that first property to acquire to get us in the game. From there, the real learning will begin..

Outside of my day job and new found interest in REI, my hobbies include powerbuilding (bodybuilding/powerlifting), culinary arts, storm chasing, being on the water (wakeboarding - learning to wake surf this summer), and of course spending time with my German Shepherd, Quasar.

I'm excited to join this BP Community to learn, interact, and share our REI journey.

Boomer Sooner!
Wes
