My name is Tom Adent and I live on the Gulf Coast in Daphne, Alabama.

I was researching on the Internet popular sites for real estate investors and was directed to Bigger Pockets!

My background is sales, marketing and investing. I grew up on a farm in Michigan and even though I moved south, the farm never left me! I had a passion for investing which led me to starting my own commodities fund (grains, energy, precious metals). In discussing investment diversification I had a developer in Costa Rica ask me about diversifying with real estate. Which made sense that a balanced investment portfolio should include some type of real estate (not including someone's primary residence).

This led to a marketing agreement for homes and condos with this developer. Now I needed to learn what real estate investors were searching for and how to personally prepare to answer the questions they will have.

I saw the forums on Bigger Pockets and read posts by investors and immediately began to learn about this industry. I look forward to learning even more as I find and follow different topics.
