From Tech to Real Estate!

Hello everyone,

My name is Cody and I recently moved to Phoenix, AZ from San Jose, CA. I work as a full-time Software Engineer for a company based in California and am looking to start building my rental property portfolio on the side. Property investing is new to me, so I am currently in the process of self-educating by reading through Brandon Turner's The Book On Rental Property Investing, listening to podcasts, and watching as many YouTube videos as possible.

I am approaching burn out in my current career as a Software Engineer. The rat race of the technology vertical is proving to be quite exhausting. It is becoming clear to me that this is not how I want to spend my life. With that being said, I am looking to make a transition into something that I believe will make me a happier person. I have always loved real estate and as I get older, I'm frequently exposed to a variety of opportunities in terms of making a living through real estate investing. I am hoping to use my current day job salary to build out a rental property portfolio that can allow me to make the transition to full-time real estate investing!

I look forward to getting to know people within the BiggerPockets community, especially those who share similar goals and aspirations as I do.

Cheers!
