Rental market in Kalispell

Hello all,

I am interested in relocating to the Flathead Valley. Ideally, I would like to house hack. Either by purchasing a multi family or having a cabin/tiny home on my property. I would like to have a long term renter so I don’t have the frequent turn over with vacationers. However, I quickly looked on Zillow and didn’t see a lot of long term rentals, I saw a few more on Facebook marketplace but still not a ton. Does anyone know how the long term rental game is? Am I just not looking in the right places for rentals, or is it the times with COVID, or is it that more people would rather own then rent in the area? I would love to hear from anyone with some insight on this. Hope to chat soon.
