Newbie from DC

Hi BP - new member here form DC. I moved to the DC area from NY Metro about 3 years ago and currently struggling with a shortsale (we got it under contract in September 2012 and went into short sale). This will be my first property and we plan on moving into the house and finishing up the basement to rent out as a 1 bedroom if we actually get it.

I am open to learning and exploring new methods but I have been reading up and spending time on MFR for buy and hold. It would be great to network with people in the area and possibly find a mentor. I am also open to helping out other investors with the little free time I have (1 year old kid and expecting another in 4 months!)
