Hello BiggerPockets network! My name is Chris, I am a pilot in the Air Force and will be moving to the Southern Delaware area (Lewes/Rehobath/Dewey) in the next month and looking to build a real estate business while living in the homes I plan on renting.

I am looking on feedback on the following process to see what you all think about it:

1. Either build a home on a lot near the beach or look for a home do the BRRR w/house hack method while both would have a build-in a mother in law suite financed either with a VA loan or FHA. Live in the home for a year.

2. Continue step 1 for 4 more years while living in the home for 1 year and then move. Continuing renting out the home for either short term vacation rentals or long term rentals.

3. All the meanwhile, continue looking for multi family homes to rent in the larger urban areas of Wilmington/Newark DE.

4. Manage a nice set of properties (20-30) units.

I am looking to get connected on bigger pockets with a real estate wholesaler in the DE/MD/PA/DC area along with meeting people who share a similar vision of economic freedom.

Chris
