Intro: SoCal novice saying Hi

Hi Everyone,

Just joined today, my name is Jon and I'm a novice at real estate.

My parents have been in the real estate investment business for quite sometime, they own around 6-7 properties in the Bay Area and I've seen them flip a few houses and know some basic knowledge, but to be completely honest I don't know too much at all. I'm hoping to learn from the experts here and one day fully dive into the real estate industry as an investor.

My short term goal is to purchase my first house, but being 24, with an average income and not enough savings for a 20% down it'll be a bit hard especially with the real estate market around here, I'm potentially talking to my dad about possibly purchasing a house together as an investment for the both of us. Cash on his end and a mortgage on my end (possibly with him as a co-signer if needed).

Hope to learn a lot from everyone here :)
