Hello from Tom, a new member in Westford, Mass.

Hello Everyone,
My wife and I are moving into a new home this summer and planning to rent the single family home that we currently live in. We had a rough experience as landlords several years ago and learned some lessons. This time we want to do it right. We hope to leverage the knowledge and experience in this forum for managing rental properties to help us develop a rental process that produces good results and a minimum number of headaches. Once we have secured a good tenant in this property and have a good process in place, we plan to look for other properties to invest in. Our long-term goal is to provide good quality housing for people who cannot yet afford to buy in a nice town with good schools for raising kids, and gradually build up financial independence for ourselves.
