I'm a newbie looking to make first time real estate investment. Work full time in Toronto in tech.

Main interest would be house-hacking in a duplex or triplex.

I am familiar with the Toronto and Waterloo region student rental markets, having gone to school in both places. Due to prices, I am also looking at places in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) or even Oshawa or Barrie, though I don't understand the industries or rental markets just as well as the Toronto or Kitchener-Waterloo (KW area).

Since I'm a newbie, I have been listening to BP podcasts almost every day, and have a goal to call at least one agent and lender a week to find someone I can work well with, and just to build relations - so far I've kept my streak.

If you have any recommended Meetups for Canadians, please let me know! Currently I've signed up for an online meet hosted by "Toronto Real Estate Investors Association - Do More Deals".

It's nice to meet you!
