Real Estate Career/investing advice -Houston
I’m looking to break into real estate investing in a year or two but would like more experience and knowledge through immersing myself in the industry through a career first. I have a genuine interest in real estate and feel that a career in it could be fulfilling and beneficial in the long run. I just turned 29, I live in Houston, Tx and I have been buying for large store (fast fashion) retailers for the past 7 years. I know I want to be in real estate but I’m unsure in what capacity I should be in it.
I have been looking into real estate assisting positions but I only have transferable experience and keep getting the cold shoulder because of my lack of hard experience. I’m looking to make around $50k+ a year. I don’t believe I would be good at sales so I would prefer to avoid a real estate agent and a mortgage loan officer career path (for now- until I at least get more comfortable). I love organizing, keeping track of documents, events, calendars and making processes to be more efficient (it sounds so lame but it’s true!). I like to have multiple projects/tasks at a time. Should I be looking into working for title agencies or property management companies? My dream would be to assist a flipper or maybe a wholesaler.
If all goes well in getting my foot in the door through real estate should I look into getting my license or an appraiser license or some kind of certificate to further increase knowledge and income? If so, what is most beneficial?
-any advice here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Taylor

Appraisers seem to be pretty busy right now - I could see where that might be a cool career to have.
Maybe the thing to do is network a bit and see if maybe you can get to know some of these people - professionals that work at title agencies or property management companies? Find out more what skills are needed, what the pace is like, etc.
