New Member from Melbourne, FL + Real Estate Employment Question

Hi BP members, I'm new to the forum and the field as well but I've begun listening to the podcasts and am trying to gather as much knowledge as I can before jumping into the deep end of real estate investing! I've lived in the Melbourne FL area for around 20 years now so I have a natural feel for the region but never really viewed it from a real estate perspective so plenty to learn. I hope to begin with either flipping or BRRRR investing.

I just recently started the real estate license course but my intention is not to quit my current job and use the license more passively for my own deals and some friends. If it works out that I can transition out of my current job then that is a bonus but not the primary goal. My question is, when I approach a broker, is this something that is frowned upon or is it something that maybe they see all the time? To expand on this, I work from home currently and take care of 2 young boys (2 y/o and 5 months!) in the process so I won't be able to regularly visit an office. Hope my question makes sense and I can get some feedback on the idea.

All in all, I look forward to interacting on the forums and hopefully connecting with some local investors as well. I'm not sure I have much investing knowledge to share but I could maybe offer some surf lessons!

Fun fact: I've competed on the TV show American Ninja Warrior several times in the last 5 years. Sadly, I didn't win the $1,000,000 so no private funding coming from me (yet).
