New To Real Estate, My Introduction
Hello. My name is Luis. I am native from Puerto Rico but on 2018 I moved to Las Vegas after surviving Hurricane Maria and then on 2019 I moved to Georgia to live with my partner. While in Vegas and having a decent job I always thought of ways to get more money of get to my economical freedom much faster. I started reading books about stocks and got into them with the help of my partner as well, giving me suggestions. After a while I discovered Real Estate. I am a proud owner of The Book On Rental Property Investing by Brandon Turner. It has truly been a great tool in helping me out with my future goals plus the many hours of listening to the podcast. Out of me and my partner I am the only one currently working as my partner is focusing on getting fit in the gym as he will be joining the AirForce soon to become a Pararescue.
We are still saving as much as we can plus working on our credit to get the best rates we can.If there is one thing I am very happy I do have, is that it is so easy for me to not waste money. We also have our joint accounts for stocks and for our real estate investing, as soon as he starts on the AirForce of course.
Sadly, I do not have a job that goes over the 40K a year, but that wont stop me. And to tell you the truth, I want to do Real Estate because I want to reach my financial freedom and have the time to spend on myself and on the people I care about.
My goals for now:
- Continue reading more books on Real Estate
- Continue raising my credit
- Practice deals
Future Goals:
- Develop more contacts (Real Estate enthusiast, contractors, lenders)
I currently do have a deal that I might take though. My sister is selling her house in Puerto Rico. She is selling it on whats left of the mortgage which is 84k. She recently renovated it and it only pays 425$ a month. It is in a nice tiny neighborhood with a big lawn. I already reached out to her so she can get me all the specifics and Il keep you guys posted. I have done my research in that area and similar houses rent for 600$ approximately. Hopefully, this pans out.
Thank you!
