Hi Bigger Pockets!  My name is Matt and I live in Southampton, PA and I am just starting out in real estate investing.  I have always been interested in investing in real estate and I have taken the past few years to learn as much as possible. I have been hesitant to actually pull the trigger on a deal but listening to the podcasts as well as reading numerous books on RE investing has given me the confidence to move forward with that first deal.  There are many ways to invest in RE that appeal to me but I think that the best bet for me is a buy and hold investor looking to build up a portfolio.  COVID has given me a lot of time to think about life and to define my why for investing in RE.  Obviously, it would be nice to have enough money to retire, to travel whenever I wanted, or just for the general financial security.  However, my why has become less about me and more about my kids (8 & 5 year old).  There have been many people in my life that have told me that I wasn't good enough so part of it is to prove people wrong but the real reason is to build a legacy and a portfolio that can be passed onto my kids.  I want to show them that they can build something from nothing and that is the biggest reason why I want to be successful in RE investing.

If there are any meet-ups (virtual for now) in the Philly area I would be very interested if anyone has information on that or knows where to find it.  The forums and articles on BP are very helpful and I will continue to read and learn as much as possible.  I am very excited to get started!  Thank you to all of the members for your contributions!

Thank you,

Matt
