Transitioning from Construction Management to R.E.

Hi All,

I'm new to the Bigger Pockets website and forums but no stranger to the litany of Bigger Pockets publishing and podcasts, in-fact it's become a passion of mine over the last half year or so.

I'm currently employed as a project manager with one of the nations largest general contractors, have been for 5 years, and it's treated me well both educationally and financially. However, I've been looking more and more into transitioning to a real estate based career, I believe I not only have a good skill set for it but it's something that gets me excited any time I think about it. The ultimate goal is unlike any other aspiring real estate investor, and that's to have financial freedom, be your own boss, and leave something of meaning to your family.

I'm curious if there's anybody out there who's transitioned from construction over to real estate and what type of position they transitioned to i.e. project management for a developer, real estate agent, etc.

Thanks in advance for all your input and I cant wait to make some connections!
