I'm a newbie looking for meetups with other investors

Hello everyone, I'm a graduate student in University of Maryland, College park. Would love to invest in real estate. I have been reading books, following BP since 3 months. Im trying to analyze the deals and do the calculations but I couldn't make out whether its a perfect deal or not. So, I thought before jumping out directly into the industry I would like to have a mentor because I have 0 experience in this field and would appreciate if anyone could help me out in this regard. Honestly I would like to have a meetup and have a chat with the local real estate investors.
