20 years old wanting real estate success
Hey guys I’m new to BP, and have been reading for about a few months now, I have seen great ideas and read many great discussions but I still find my self in a dilemma. I’m currently 20 years old in college as a marketing major and I’m about 2 years away from graduating(taking summer classes now hoping to finish faster) I’ve been wanting to pursue real estate for quite a while now but it’s seem almost impossible to do with little to no cash or credit, I’ve seen many videos and even bought Kris Krohan training program and this was supposed to help me secure deals with “no money down”. I was feeling motivated after that program and started looking on Zillow for possible sellers, I called hundreds of people and only one person even considered doing a Seller financing deal and he then eventually stopped responding, after this I stopped and picked up the books again and here we are. Was this the right approach? Is there any suggestions for me getting started in college ? Anyways you guys started in college ?
I was thinking about trying to get my real estate license so I can get my feet wet while still in school and make some money while I’m at it. How does that sound? Is that something you guys would recommend?

Hey @Jeremy Garcia.
Congrats to you for your ambition! The beginning for your REI journey is definitely the toughest part. Don't give up! I would recommend saving money to help you buy your first property. It may take a little longer, but I think it's generally worth it. I recommend you read this article I wrote for Bigger Pockets titled How to Invest in Real Estate Before Turning 21. Once you've read it, let me know your thoughts and if you have any questions. I'd be willing to chat with you anytime, too! Best of luck and hope to chat soon!
