Newbie Introduction; Fox Valley Area, Wisconsin

Evan Koehler
Posted

Hello everyone!  I'm a newbie who recently (3 months ago) graduated from college and have settled in the Fox Valley Area in Wisconsin for my first job.  I majored in Finance and Economics so the idea of creating money and making it work for me really excites me, as I'm sure it does for you all as well!  Recently, I've been doing a lot of reading and have really discovered the power of real estate rental investing.  What first drew me to real estate was Robert Kiyosaki's book Rich Dad Poor Dad (I'm sure some of you have heard of it) and how he explains the concept of making money work for you by purchasing assets.  In the book he briefly discussed his success in real estate and it got me thinking that that could be a way for myself to build up my assets and passive income.  Following Rich Dad Poor Dad I read Brandon Turner's book The Book on Rental Property Investing and that really opened my eyes to the wealth building potential real estate has.  I actually just finished reading the book yesterday (currently taking recommendations on other "newbie" level books) and thought that I would give BiggerPockets a look and WOW am I impressed.  Anyways, I just wanted to say "hello" to you all and welcome any advice you have to offer someone just starting on their journey.  Please feel free to connect with me, especially if you are in the Fox Valley Area!  Thank you!
