New Investor Introduction - Washington, D.C.

Hello all,

My name is Arran Cooper and I'm a new real estate investor based out of Washington, D.C. I've been a commercial mortgage broker going on 5 years now and, after working on financing numerous commercial real estate and multifamily transactions, have decided to start investing in my own property on the side.

I'm currently interested in acquiring 5-16 unit properties that cash flow and have value-add upside in high job growth markets, but I am also learning more about SFH investing and am open to exploring residential opportunities as well. My strategy is to use leverage conservatively and invest for the long-term while slowly increasing the size of the portfolio and waiting for appreciation. Right now I'm focusing my search around the DC/MD region and in Richmond, Virginia, with a goal of closing on my first property by years end.

I'm excited to join Bigger Pockets to learn, contribute, and connect with as many of you as possible!
